Regular school attendance is essential to help children and young people achieve their full potential.

 

At Two Bridges Academy, we have high aspirations for every pupil. Attending school regularly enables pupils to develop their knowledge, skills, independence and confidence, whilst benefiting from the personalised support and opportunities available to them.

 

As a specialist school, we recognise that consistency, routine and positive relationships are particularly important for many of our pupils. Attending school every day helps pupils feel secure, make progress and participate fully in school life.

 

We understand that some pupils and families may face difficulties that affect attendance, including medical needs, anxiety, special educational needs and disabilities, or family circumstances. We are committed to working closely with families and other professionals to understand and overcome any barriers to attendance and to provide support wherever possible.

 

When pupils are absent from school, they can miss important learning experiences, specialist interventions, social opportunities and time with their peers. Regular attendance helps pupils gain the maximum benefit from the education and support we provide.

 

Where possible, we ask that routine medical and dental appointments are arranged outside school hours. If appointments need to take place during the school day, please ensure your child attends school for as much of the day as possible.

 

Good attendance is also an important part of safeguarding and wellbeing. Being in school regularly helps pupils maintain positive relationships with trusted adults, access specialist support and remain connected to their school community.
